PROFILE

Born in the Ukraine, I studied painting at the Kiev Art School. After graduation I worked as an architect in Kiev for 10 years. In 2000 I moved with my family to New Zealand, where I return to painting. To break away from the representational, realistic approach I began experimenting with different mediums and techniques (gouache, oil, collage in combination with watercolour and acrylic), also returned to MATRYOSHKA painting (Russian nesting dolls made of wood). I have participated in various group and solo exhibitions in Wellington, becoming a member of Watercolour NZ, WAG and an Elected Artist Member of the Academy of Fine Arts.

Currently I reside in Canberra, Australia, where we moved in 2010. Melbourne's Affordable Art Fair 2011 (StART S27) is going to be my second solo exhibition in Australia after Art Sydney 2010. So scary... so exiting...
